New Poems Added! Mid July
Hello everyone. As said before, we're constantly working on adding new literary works to our database of high-quality notes for students of English literature.
This week, we added a couple of new poems. Here they are.
We've added a couple of more poems as well which will be referred to in our coming posts. That's all for today.
This week, we added a couple of new poems. Here they are.
1) The New World Order by Hina Faisal Imam:
This is a great poem written by a well-known Pakistani poetess, Hina Faisal Imam. The poem is a critique of human beings of contemporary times, stating that people have become so materialistic and it is this materialism that has led to their demise. We have put up detailed notes on our site for the poem The New World Order by Hina Faisal Imam.2) Laburnum Tree by Maki Kureishi:
The next poem we added this week is Laburnum Tree, written by Maki Kureishi. This poem is actually an acknowledgment of Pakistani writers who write English literature. The poem applauds their role and struggle and congratulates them for finally establishing an identity for Pakistani writers of English literature. Like the previous poem, we have put up complete notes on our English literature site for the poem Laburnum Tree by Maki Kureishi.3) Karachi Poem by M Athar Tahir:
Another poem we added this month to our database of English literary works is Karachi poem by M Athar Tahir. As the name clearly implies, this poem is all about Karachi city, a city that is the industrial hub of Pakistan. The poem draws a picture of the past and present state of Karachi city. To read our complete notes on the Karachi by M Athar Tahir, head on to our website LitPriest.com now. We've added a couple of more poems as well which will be referred to in our coming posts. Shahryar Rashed Poetry
Shahryar Rashed was a Pakistani poet who wrote poetry in English language. He was the son of Noon Meem Rashed, a key Pakistani poet.
He has written numerous poems and many of his poems are now included as a part of course in many Pakistani universities where a degree in English literature is offered.
We have crafted detailed notes on some of Shahryar Rashed's poems that are a part of the academic curriculum in Pakistani universities. Some of these poem include:
Onto the next millennium by Shahryar Rashed
and
A Race of Joy by Shahryar Rashed
We are working on more of his poems and we will keep uploading new poems on the website and will keep updating you through our posts here.

Welcome to LitPriest
Greetings and welcome to LitPriest, your new favorite website for high-quality notes on all things English literature.
While there are plenty of such websites already out there, I felt the need to create a website that is dedicated to non-native speakers of English studying English literature, as well as those students who face problems in understanding literary ideas and concepts.
The purpose of this website is to break down information into smaller chunks that is easily understandable by students of all levels and all backgrounds.
English literature doesn't have to be difficult at all.
Another reason for creating this website is that there are many pieces of English literature written by Pakistani authors such as poems, short stories, and essays. These literary works are taught in Pakistani universities but no supplementary notes exist on the internet to aid students in studying these topics.
That's what we're going to address. We've compiled a long list of such literary works and we're actively working on them. The website will soon have a large database of English literature notes, creating especially for non-native speakers of English.
The website also has a dedicated forum section where English literature students can have discussions and ask questions relating to poetry, novel, drama, essays, short stories, and literary theories.
If you're looking for a particular literary work and don't find it on our site, simply write to us using the contact page on our website and we will start working on that piece on priority basis.
Hope this website will become a great learning and resources hub for students of English literature.
